Kava Kava
Kava is a tropical ever green plant. This Kava has large heart-shaped leaves and woody stems. This is made into a cold beverage. These are grows upto 12'-15' tall. The Kava is mostly found in Polynesia, Melanesia, and Micronesia. The Kava leaves and stems have some medicinal values. The Kava is the most useful herbal plant. This is mostly used in Pacific Polynesia. This has three years growth to produce enough roots to make a harvest worthwhile. The rootstock or stump contains the psychoactive substances.
The beverage is prepared from the root of a shrub. The Kava roots and stumps of kava are prepared by pounding, chewing, grinding them and soaking them in cold water. The kava root is ground to a powder. The powder is present in the brownish colour. This powder is mixed with water and drink as a beverage without any fragment. By using the Kava extract the capsules are prepared so this is called as Kava Kava.
